The 3Cs of Teaching: Compassion, Collaboration and Contribution – Embracing Scholarship of Teaching through the Arts
Making meaningful contribution as an educator in the 21st century could be an active challenge in this data explosive era. The alignment between theory and practical deliverance in the classroom may become ambiguous due to the amalgamation of technology and overwhelming information on the www. However, the beauty of such challenge also bring forth the opportunity for teacher to be a lifelong learner, making teaching and learning a truly dynamic experience for both teachers and students. This workshop introduce the experiential learning concepts to anchor meaningful educational experience in the classroom and equip educators with the strategy of integrating arts value in the teaching and learning environment. Participants will be guided to actively review and create teaching strategy that would enable a more holistic approach in the teaching.

GRACE LEONG YIT MING
Grace Leong is the Programme Leader in Learning Enhancement and Senior Lecturer in Theatre at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). She has a wealth of professional experience working and collaborating with many performing companies as well as museums and art houses. Notable partners are Dance Horizon Troupe, Paper Monkey Theatre, MOCA Museum of Contemporary Arts Singapore, TCR Music Station Singapore, SHHKDT Singapore Hokkien Huay KUAN Dance Theatre and People’s Association Talent Advisor Panel.
